Mistake #1: Disregarding The Pause
Have you ever read a book or a journal without punctuation marks? No! Do you know why? Because you would have to work way to hard to understand the words and message.
The same thing is true when we speak. If you bypass pausing between your ideas, you are making it nearly impossible for your listeners to grasp your thoughts.
Disregarding the pause is the biggest mistake you can make when it comes to public speaking.

Mistake #2: Not Understanding Rhythm
I already mentioned that our brains are wired to hear the rhythm of our native language. That means that when you superimpose the rhythm of your first language onto English (which everyone is guilty of, by the way), you won't always get the right stress.
When you put the accent on the wrong syllable, or even worse, the wrong word in a phrase, your listeners fall behind in trying to make sense of what you're saying.
